Do you like British humor?Do you like short stories that are extremely funny??
This book was hilarious. From the beginning scene where Vasa announces to an airplane full of people (through talking to her assistant Vpres) that her boobs are not even to investigating her frenemy Ella’s conundrum to the hilarious ending, it was nonstop with the laughs.
It is written with a very dry British humor, so you do need to be familiar with that type of humor or have that sense of humor yourself. I, for one, greatly enjoy that type of humor so this book was great.
At 78 pages, this book will be perfect for the beach or sitting by the pool!!!
Will I read this book again? Yes
Will I reccomend this book to family and friends? Yes but only if they like dry British humor and understand it.
Age range? Teens on up.

Vasa and Ypres A Mayfair Conundrum edition by J B Chisholm Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Goes down as another off my 2016 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A book with a place in the title. Mayfair is a posh part of London where all kinds of conundrums seem to go down for Vasa and her friends.
A quirky, dry kind of humour that will have you chuckling all the way through with the observations and conundrums Vasa and Ella find themselves having.
The book starts with Vasa and her assistant Ypres coming into land at Heathrow. It’s while Vasa is using the facilities that she comes across her first observation of the day. One she feels very strongly about. So much so that she wants to write to The Times on the matter, even to the point of mentioning Darwin to help her case. It’s while discussing this observation with Ypres on the plane that the two come to a certain conclusion but as the plane lands it seems that Vasa’s day is just going to get more comical the further she gets into it. Especially when she bumps into Ella. Or more specifically when Ella bumps into her – more than once – with her luggage causing a head bump or two.
It’s only after this meeting that Ella, an old childhood enemy turned friend, soon wishes to discuss her very own conundrum she has found herself in. One she feels that Vasa should be able to help her with, along with the help of Ypres of course. Meeting in a safe place later that day, one where things should not be able to fall on her, Vasa gets her to reveal her conundrum in full, and what a one it is.
Very comical with all their reactions, though more so with Ypres’ straight faced ones. She doesn’t really show emotion, other than the occasional eye brow lift, so is very good at expressing opinions and notes on her own observations. Vasa’s inner monologue, always planning what she says, is also very amusing. Love her little conspiracy theories – you know that Girl Scout was just waiting to pounce with those cookies!
An easy read which will have you chuckling along to see what they will say and get up to next.

Vasa and Ypres is a humorous fiction book about Vanessa and Ella. They bump into each other, and when Ella lets Vanessa know about her conundrum, Vanessa agrees to assist Ypres. Vanessa and Ypres then navigate through London in a very humorous way.
What I believe would have worked better was if the story was written in the third person narrative. It is instead written through Vasa which for a short book, made things complicated because the humor and dialogue were between Vasa and Ypres.
If you are from England and are familiar with the slang, you can easily blend into the content and enjoy the witty literature. This is a short book, and so it was a fast and enjoyable read. The work focuses on social observation, and the character personality was unique.
There isn’t much of a world setting, but the dialogue and observations cover up for it. The character development, I believe, was the strong aspect of the storyline.
If you are looking for a fast and fun read, then this book is the right one for you.
